Merits 2010

Which games have made notable, special achievements in 2010? Lets find out.

merit-acting

Games are slowly catching up with animation when it comes to getting good voices for characters, with some big names now emerging in the voice acting scene. These are 2010's best.

transformers3rd - Transformers: War for Cybertron

Wait, what? Can a game about giant robots fighting each other really merit a best acting award? When it features veterans Peter Cullen, Fred Tatasciore, Nolan North and Richard Epcar you'd hope so, and thankfully WfC doesn't disappoint. Not by a long shot.

cboxmasseffect2nd - Mass Effect 2

Coupling high quality voice acting with high-quality digital actors capable of conveying the nuances that good voice acting can bring to them is a difficult task, but its one BioWare seems to have a firm grip on. Mass Effect 2's voice cast is astronomically good, with famous names from Martin Sheen to Adam Baldwin to Seth Green to Tricia Helfer all turning up at one point or another. But having a great cast is one thing; coaxing the incredible voice performances out of them like BioWare did with Mass Effect 2 is something else entirely.

enslaved1st – Enslaved: Odyssey to the West

Okay, so there are only really three voiced characters in Enslaved, but what a performance it is. Andy Serkis, Lindsey Shaw and Richard Ridings put in superb performances on every level, breathing life, believability and depth into their characters in such a natural, confident way you'd think it was easy.
