Halo Anniversary Edition Kinect features detailed
Scan items, shout commands.
Microsoft and 343 Studios has revealed details of the Kinect support for forthcoming shooter remix, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition.
The Kinect features aren't exactly integral to Halo CEAE, but play a supporting role. Most useful will be the voice commands, so you can bark out commands like reload, grenade, and switch between classic and remastered visuals. Okay, the last one probably won't improve your odds in combat. And you might need to watch what you say if you're playing local co-op...
Then there's the 'Scan' mode, which you can use by hovering your reticule over an object and saying 'scan'. The object then gets added to the final Kinect feature, the Library, which houses additional background info on items within the Halo universe that can be browsed through. Scanning and the library features will only be available to players with Kinect.
Halo Waypoint will also be getting an overhaul, with a redesigned interface for tracking progress and the addition of a Windows Phone companion app, Halo ATLAS (Advanced Tactical Assault System), which shows a dynamic, top-down overview of the current map including information such as teammate positions, which sounds rather handy (and a bit Wii U-ish).
You'll also be able to create custom challenges to share with your friends, like scoring 50 headshots in 24 hours, which will earn credits that players can spend unlocking new goodies in Multiplayer and Firefight modes.
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition is out for Xbox 360 on 15th November.
